Privacy is our priority. We understand you may be sharing sensitive information and we take that responsibility seriously. We want you to understand our approach to privacy in plain language and feel safe using Ash.
- When you install Ash, you are not creating an account. You do not have to provide your real name or any personal information. However, if you want to add information to customize Ash in the profile section, you may do so. That information will not be stored or accessible to us.
- We do collect email addresses for marketing purposes but we do not associate the email address with any of your interactions in the app.
- Ash stores your conversation history on your device. If you use any software for backing up your device, like iCloud, your data may be synced across devices. Your recordings are not stored on our servers, and we have no backend database of your conversations with Ash. Recordings are sent to our servers and our models for transcription, processing, and generating a response, and then are immediately discarded. Poof. Basically, we just don’t store anything on our side except for high level usage data that’s not associated with your identity (e.g. that a user somewhere had the app open) and bug reports, like when the app crashed.
- If you have opted into sharing your conversation transcripts, no voice data is stored. Conversation text is scrubbed for all personal information and then used exclusively to make Ash smarter. Your mental health journey helps Ash understand and improve for other people who go through similar challenges to you.
Because we’re in the early stages, these terms might change slightly over time. You can always find the most recent copy of these terms on this page. And while the details might change, our commitment to your privacy never will.
